Presenting . . . Home 🏠
Thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s collage! A reminder: If there are themes you’d be excited to collage, please submit your prompts here. And now, here are the truly stunning results for Home:
“My Second Home” by Christine Lynn Trigg
I have many places that feel like home. One is Norway. I speak Norwegian and lived there for 2 years. My daughter lives in Oslo now, so I visit often.
For this collage, I am making fun of stereotypes which I buy into! The idea of "hygge" has become popular in the US and Great Britain. There is also the idea of "Scandi this and Scandi that". However, there is some truth to both these concepts. And reindeer meatballs are delicious.
Four home collages by jenny lloyd

Having lived in six different countries over the past twenty years, home has meant so many things to me. However, no matter where I've been, the most important thing is having a safe and comfortable space to do the little things that make up a day, a week, a month, a life. If a life well-lived is made up of tiny moments, I created these small handcrafted collages to celebrate some of those; breakfast, nights off, watering day (I have over 40 houseplants so this takes a lot of time and love!) and my morning routine. Just little artworks in my handmade journals to manifest magic from the mundane. ✨
“On the Road Again” by Shannon Stewart
I just started with a cracker box as a substrate, and the cut-out of the people, their possessions and their truck. I didn’t have a plan in mind, except to play with the scraps of paper that I had on hand. I suppose one can think of the 1930s, during the Dust Bowl crisis, with many people packing up to head west for the promise of a better life. I added the butterfly stamps as a symbol of fragility, hope and resilience. Home can be stationary or fluid, offering a peaceful existence or a living hell.
Untitled by Hannah Méndez
Took this prompt quite literally as I grew up moving every 2-3 years, and always dreamed of the home I would cultivate for myself once I was able to plant roots in one place. It’d have a garden with chickens, lots of natural light, and be immersed in nature ✨
“Home” by Meg Woods
Like Bri, I have a hard time pinning down what home is. My childhood (1965-85) set up weird expectations, in the home I raised my daughters (1996-2016) I failed to meet them, and home now is just letting go and being.
“The New Yorkers” by Eleanor Cummins
For this collage, I led with a color palette. It’s one of my top five collages to date!
And that’s it for our February Home collages! Thank you for everyone who submitted.
Next up is our March theme, New/Unconventional Surfaces! You still have two weeks (okay, let’s be real, a whole month) to submit — please remember to share your creations with us via email at a.hannah.seo@gmail.com. Be sure to include a photo of your artwork, a title, and (optional) a short description of the piece and/or your process.
We’ll see you on April 1 with a whole new prompt and a showcase of New Surface collages on April 15. Until then!
