19. New surfaces
Happy 1st of the month, Collage Clubbers!
🚨 Please, please, please submit ideas for prompts HERE. 🚨 We want to hear what you want to collage—the questions plaguing your dreams, the delights and horrors in your brain! We’d love it if you shared, so please don’t be shy!
Anyway, t’is the season for a new Collage Club prompt:
Collage on an object
This idea is by me, CC co-founder Hannah, but inspired by CC member Jessica Hester:
My mind was absolutely blown when I saw Jessica’s micro-collage submission “Wrack Maps,” where she collaged maps on the insides of seashells! It has never occurred to me to collage on a surface besides plain old paper, and I just thought it was super inspiring. So this month, I would like to challenge all of us to collage on a new, unconventional surface. Whether you pick a stone, a coffee cup, a mug you no longer like, or shells like Jessica — it’s sure to yield something totally new and different. I personally like the idea of collaging a globe but (1) I don’t have one and (2) that would probably take a really long time. To aid in your inspiration, I’ll paste a pic of “Wrack Maps” below.

Now, dear reader, YOUR TASK IS SIMPLE: Run with this inspiration and collage something — anything! — by the end of the month.
Then, share a photo of the results with me, Hannah, at a.hannah.seo@gmail.com and I’ll circulate it in next month’s newsletter for all to see.
If you’re so inclined, 🚨 please submit ideas for prompts HERE 🚨. Do you have intentions or goals for the new year?? Tell us so we can all collage them! We’ll pick one idea at random each month, in the hopes every club member’s ideas are represented. We would love nothing more than to collage to your creative vision, please send us ideas!!!
Finally, please feel free to forward this email to friends and family, enemies and lovers. Everyone is welcome!
