Presenting. . . Gallery 🖼️
Happy summer everyone! Thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s collage! A reminder: If there are themes you’d be excited to collage, please submit your prompts here.
And now, here are the wonderful Gallery collages!
“Worlds Within” by Hannah Seo
The anchor point for this collage for me was this giant golden frame, which I’ve been hanging onto (in my “special scraps” folder) for quite a while. I liked the idea of a multidimensional gallery, of art lined up through the page, rather than in a row, and went from there.
“Medieval Madness” by Melissa Trigg-Collins
I had so much fun with this subject. While not a traditional collage-( I made and painted all the pictures and the background paper) I really had fun putting it together. I recently took a free online workshop on medieval letters and what started as an innocent interest has become a bit of an obsession. I also want to say,- Thank you collage club for helping me make art every month!
“Colorful Life” by Gabriela Dorantes
I found this collage while going through my journal from last year, and it reminds me of a playful gallery filled with things I like and enjoy.
Untitled by Angélique Culvin
I was inspired by what I would like my own private gallery / study room to look like :)
“Cropped” by Eleanor Cummins
I’ve been playing around with making miniature frames out of hot glue, with varying degrees of success! Though my gallery technically ended up just being one image instead of many, I liked the way the positioning of the frame created an image within the image.
And that’s it for our May collages!
Next up is our June theme, Zine, the works for which we will reveal on July 15! You still have two weeks (okay, let’s be real, a whole month) to submit — please remember to share your creations with us via email at a.hannah.seo@gmail.com. Be sure to include a photo of your artwork, a title, and (optional) a short description of the piece and/or your process. If you have a preferred name that you’d like us to attribute your artwork to, please let us know that as well!
We’ll see you on July 1st with a whole new prompt. Happy collaging!
