31. The Muses
Hello Collage Club members! We hope you’re having an amazing start to the year. It is March 1st, which means our thirty-first Collage Club prompt is here:
The Muses
Collage Club member Katie O suggested this theme through our prompt form. Due to my own procrastination, I wasn’t able to ask Katie to elaborate on this prompt, but here’s how I’m interpreting it:
The muses of Greek mythology were nine daughters Zeus sired with the goddess of memory (Mnemosyne). They were sources of artistic inspiration of different domains: epic poetry, history, lyric poetry, music, tragedy, hymns, dance, pastoral poetry, and celestial knowledge.
I could see this prompt going one of two ways. (1) Create a collage that shows how the ancient Greek muses influence your life — which of the nine are most present for you today, and how does that look/feel for you? (2) What do your muses look like? i.e. what are are your current sources of inspiration, and how would you depict them in collage form?

Now, dear reader, YOUR TASK IS SIMPLE: Run with this inspiration and collage something — anything! — by the end of the month.
Then, share a photo of the results with me, Hannah, at a.hannah.seo@gmail.com and I’ll circulate it in next month’s newsletter for all to see.
If you’re so inclined, 🚨 please submit ideas for prompts HERE 🚨. Do you have intentions or goals for the new year?? Tell us so we can all collage them! We’ll pick one idea at random each month, in the hopes every club member’s ideas are represented. We would love nothing more than to collage to your creative vision, please send us ideas!!!
Finally, please feel free to forward this email to friends and family, enemies and lovers. Everyone is welcome!
